Bait & Switch Among Us, Reno Meineke Car Care Center

I received this complaint from Joe & Charlotte Rios.

We saw that Meineke advertised $19.99 for an oil change and tire rotation. We went to the Meineke at 2825 Kietzke Lane, #1, Reno, NV 89502, 775-826-5515. I signed an estimate for an oil change and tire rotation for a total of $21.88, that included oil of $6.49, oil filter of $4.99, labor at $7.50, haz mat at $2.51 and tax of $0.39. No one said anything else to us. The final bill presented was $28.41. That is 23 percent more than we were quoted in our written estimate and 30 percent more than in the Meineke advertisement.

Somehow, there was now an undisclosed and not on our estimate $1.99 for Shop Supplies, the total for parts had gone up to $18.84 with an increase to $5.99 for the oil filter and an increase to $12.45 for the oil, the haz mat had increased to $4.93, the labor had dropped to $6.04, and the tax had increased to $1.54.
