The ex-Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto was buried today at her family's mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, the southern province of Sindh.
Bhutto was laid to rest in a simple wooden coffin covered with the Pakistani flag.
Her body was transported last night with a military plane in the Larkana district.
Hundreds of thousands of mourners gathered on Friday for the funeral in front of the mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.
Bhutto was gunned down by an assassin who then blew himself up at the election campaign rally in Rawalpindi on Thursday.
Pervez Musharraf, the Pakistan president, announced three days of mourning.
The Gulfnews reported that the assassinated Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was buried next to the grave of her father in her ancestral home on Friday.
Thousands of her supporters almost halted the funeral procession in their desperation to get near the flag-draped coffin, while minor scuffles also broke out.
Mourners wept and beat their heads in grief as Bhutto's casket was carried out of her ancestral home at Garhi-Khuda Baksh.
Bhutto's husband, Asif Ali Zardari, and her three children arrived from Dubai to attend the funeral and burial.
Violence erupted in Pakistan hours before the funeral started, with angry mobs setting cars, train stations, banks and buildings on fire. At least nine people were killed in the violence.
Bhutto, who had hoped to regain power in a January 8 parliamentary election, was assassinated on Thursday at a campaign rally.
On Friday, the government announced a three-day period of mourning, but Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro said there was no immediate plan to postpone the election.
"Right now the elections stand where they were," he told a news conference. "We will consult all the political parties to take any decision about it."
