Freed Colombian Hostage Clara Rojas

Freed Colombian Hostage Clara Rojas

Jan 10 08

Colombian hostages, Clara Rojas and Consuelo Gonzales are free. The news was confirmed this morning by both The International Red Cross and the Venezuelan President Hugo Chaves.

Clara Rojas and Consuelo Gonzales stepped down a Venezuelan helicopter in the Caracas airport a few moments ago after they were being held hostage for six years in the Colombian jungles by the guerilla group Farc.

The liberation news was first known early this morning by the Venezuelan Interior Minister Ramon Rodriguez Chasin.

The guerillas disapeared back into the jungle right after they turned in the two hostages in an unknown meeting place. This is clearly a peace gesture by the Farc.
